Weitere Datenschutzhinweise - Newsletter
This newsletter provides additional information on the following topics:
Contents of the newsletter, invitations to events, and webinars
We only send newsletters, e-mails, and other electronic messages with promotional information (hereinafter: "newsletters") if we have the consent of the recipient or if there is legal basis for doing so. Our newsletters contain information about current products, services, events, and webinars from AKQUINET, as well as general topics from the IT area.
Registration data
In addition to your e-mail address, we ask you to provide your form of address and last name when you register. This simplifies communication and enables us to address you directly in the newsletters. You can also provide other, optional data with your registration, such as your first name, company, phone number, and a general description.
Logging of your registration
Registration for our newsletter is performed using a double opt-in procedure. This means we need you to confirm your data twice. After the first confirmation, in the registration form on our website, you receive an e-mail in which you are asked to confirm your registration again. This is necessary to ensure that no one can register with someone else's e-mail address.
The second confirmation is provided by clicking the link in the e-mail that you receive from us after the first step. If the e-mail does not appear in your inbox within 10 minutes of your registration, please check your spam filter.
Registrations for our newsletter are logged, to ensure we can document them compliant with the legal requirements. In this process, the following information is saved: Times of the first and second confirmations of the e-mail address, the information provided in the first step, and the IP address.
Dispatch of e-mails through a service provider
We only use your data internally and generally do not disclose it to third parties. There is one exception to this principle: To send e-mails, we use a service provider (ClickDimensions LLC), which provides us with extensive support.
ClickDimensions processes the data in secure data centers located in Europe. ClickDimensions headquarters is located in the U.S. however, which means pursuant to the provisions of the European General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR), this represents a transfer of data to an organization in a non-secure third country.
Statistical analysis
When you download images or click a link in a newsletter or one of our other marketing e-mails, this is logged automatically by the ClickDimensions e-mail tracking service. This usage information helps us to improve the content of our newsletters. To do so, we record the following key figures, among others:
- Click rate - The click rate is the ratio of delivered newsletters to clicks of clickable elements. For this purpose, links in the newsletter are created as tracking links.
- Opening rate - The opening rate provides information as to how many newsletters were opened by the subscribers as a ratio to the number of newsletters delivered within an e-mail marketing campaign. A mailing is marked as "opened" as soon as you agree to load the external content.
Unsubscribe options
You can unsubscribe to our newsletter at any time, thus revoking your consent. Upon this revocation, your consent for transfer to the external third party and for statistical analysis is revoked automatically. Unfortunately, separate revocation of these consents is not possible due to technical reasons. An unsubscribe link is included at the end of every newsletter.
Legal basis from the General Data Protection Regulation
Pursuant to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is effective from May 25, 2018, we hereby notify you that the consent for sending e-mail addresses is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) and 7 GDPR, as well as sections 7 Para. 2 No. 3 and Para. 3 of the German Act Against Unfair Competition (UWG). The use of a dispatch service provider, statistical collections and analyses, and logging of the registration procedure are carried out based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. Our interest lies in using a user-friendly, secure newsletter system that both serves our business interests and meets user expectations.
We also wish to inform you that you may object to the future processing of your personal data at any time, in line with the legal provisions pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR. In particular, you may object to processing for the purpose of direct advertising.
